Our goal through streaming is twofold. We want to help those of you who have difficulty picking up our signal to be able to get a clear signal but we also want to reach others outside our broadcast signal at 107.7 on the FM dial. However, in both those cases, we felt that our ministry would be limited if the Internet listener was tied to the computer. So we started researching possible solutions. And we've found what we feel is the best solution - the CCrane FM Transmitter (pictured to the left).

The transmitter comes with all the supplies you need. It plugs into the sound card of your computer and then rebroadcasts the signal to all the radios in your house. You choose the frequency and then just dial into that frequency on any radio to listen to Tri-State Praise KGCR.

We've purchased the transmitters in bulk, allowing us to get a special discounted rate ($42.50), and we want to pass them on to you at cost. The one down side we found to the transmitters is that they broadcast any audio coming out of the computer. That means they'll re-broadcast our station if you have it playing on your computer. But it also means that any games your kids are playing that have audio in the background will be broadcast as well. It's something you might want to keep in mind, especially if you have kids who regularly use the computer while you're listening to the radio in another part of the house. One solution would be to pick up a second used computer at a garage sale and use that computer to send our broadcast to your radios. All it needs is a modem (or an ethernet connection if you use high speed Internet) and a sound card.
